Vermilion Foreign Trade

Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the problems and questions encountered while importing and exporting can create difficulties for businesses and individuals. We produce solutions to your frequently asked questions in foreign trade in accordance with the legislation.

1- CAN THE PRODUCT PRICE BE SENT ON BEHALF OF THE MANUFACTURER?

No. We specifically request that advance payments be made directly to the account of Vermilion Dış Ticaret Limited Şirketi, the exporter. This is important to avoid financial risks for both our company and the manufacturers we work with and to comply with the legal procedures required by the state. Once the advance payment is made to our account, we have three options:

I. Refund the amount after confirming with the manufacturer.

II. Request a correction message through the bank and ask the sender to confirm the actual beneficiary is the manufacturer.

III. Block the equivalent of the advance payment amount (usually from VAT refunds) until the export is completed.

2– IS IT MANDATORY TO MAKE A PURCHASE TRANSACTION FOR PART OF THE PRODUCT PRICE?

According to the Turkish Foreign Exchange Law No. 32/48 and the announcement dated 04.09.2018, it is required that 100% of the export payment be brought into the country, and 80% of it must be tied to the Foreign Exchange Purchase Certificate. Failure to do so results in a legal penalty.

3-WHERE SHOULD THE EXPORT PAYMENT BE SENT?

The importer (abroad) must send the full product payment to the exporter’s company account.

4-WHAT LOGISTICS SERVICES DOES VERMILION OFFER?

Vermilion provides transport, customs clearance, and domestic delivery services for exports from Turkey to Europe. We collect your products from your suppliers, bring them to our warehouse, inspect them, and then complete customs procedures in Turkey. Afterward, your products are shipped securely to Europe. If you do not work with a customs agent in Europe, we arrange the customs clearance there as well.

5-HOW DO WE HANDLE CUSTOMS PROCEDURES BOTH DOMESTICALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY?

We have an agreement with a customs agency in Turkey. All import and export documents will be prepared and communicated to you. We also have contracted customs agents in Europe. After the vehicle departs, the customs agency may require you to sign a contract for authorization. Additionally, it is necessary to activate the EORI number for the company. Once the vehicle arrives in Europe, the customs agency will contact you regarding the tax payment and inform you accordingly. After the tax is paid, the vehicle will be released.

6- WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES DO YOU UNDERTAKE DURING LOGISTICS AND CUSTOMS PROCESSES WHEN TRANSPORTING FROM TURKEY TO EUROPE?

When working with us, we consolidate all logistics and customs processes in one place. From the moment your products are received from suppliers to our warehouse, we handle the preparation of customs documents, customs clearance, and the completion of the transportation process. We ensure everything runs smoothly until the products are delivered to the address in Europe.

7HOW DO YOU HANDLE POTENTIAL DELAYS AND PROBLEMS IN THE IMPORT PROCESS?

Vermilion carefully manages the entire process, taking proactive measures to minimize delays or issues. We provide transparent communication at every stage, allowing us to take quick action if any issues arise. We also ensure that our clients are informed at every step of the process.

8-DO YOU OFFER ANY OPTIONS FOR INSURING OUR PRODUCTS?

Yes, we insure your products with CMR insurance during the transportation and customs processes. This ensures that potential transportation damages and other risks are minimized.

9-HOW IS THE PRICING CALCULATED, AND ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS?

Pricing varies depending on the transport mode, your products, and the destination region. However, all costs are presented transparently to you, and there are no hidden fees. We offer you the most cost-effective solutions and provide full clarity on any additional costs.

10-WHAT IS THE CUSTOMS TAX RATE?

In the receiving country, VAT is calculated based on the product. Additionally, the rate may differ for companies and individuals. In the European region, VAT can be as high as 45% depending on the product type. VAT should be sent to the tax authority by the buyer after the product enters the country. Even if the rate is 0%, there will still be a minimum customs tax cost.

11- WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME FROM TURKEY TO EUROPE?

The freight value is calculated based on the type of goods, weight, length, or volume (M3), and a quote is provided. Once the quote is approved and the shipment is loaded onto the appropriate vehicle, delivery to your address will be completed within 7-12 days.
